About

I'm from West Finchley in London, England.  Most of my relatives live near London.

I enjoy visiting family and friends as well as historical sites.

Most of my school years were in New Jersey where we lived after emigrating to the United States. I enjoyed the Jersey shore and fishing in the Delaware Bay.

My first two years of college were at Rowan University (formerly Glassboro) where I studied Spanish and French. I attended Evangel College where I studied philosophy and psychology.

After graduation, I married a young woman from Kansas before going to graduate school. We enjoy many common interests in games, traveling, and long walks in new places. But most of all, we enjoy our family, which includes three grandchildren.

I obtained a Master's Degree in Counselling at the University of Missouri. I worked for two years as a counsellor. Our son was born at this time.

I returned to the University of Missouri-Columbia for a Ph.D. in psychology.  I worked as a licensed clinical psychologist in schools, hospitals, clinics, and an office practice.

In 2001, I began a career as a psychology professor at Evangel University. I mostly taught research methods and statistics to upper division undergraduate and graduate psychology students. I also taught Psychology of Religion, which was of most interest to me as a research topic.

What I enjoyed most about teaching was work with students and colleagues on research projects. We published on psychotherapy, testing, love, forgiveness, reconciliation, restoration, hope, attachment to God, and spirituality.

In recent years I became a grandfather. My wife and I enjoy caring for our grandchildren.

I retired early from teaching to devote time to writing, speaking, family, and our love of travel.
